This template is taken from a fold demonstrated at Letterlocking.org
This template is made for 8.5x11" paper. You may need to adjust the print settings to "actual size" or "no margins" for proper alignment of the boxes once folded.
I had fun making the template but do not exactly know where it would be used. I can imagine passing notes (like in class). There are seven post and reply areas, so maybe you can have a week of daily inspiration messages between you and a partner or close friend. It's really open to your imagination. Oh, and if you want to lock the message each time, that could also be fun. I've found using a sticker allows for easier re-use to the next message.
Below are photos of the fold and the Youtube video of the letter locking folds from the folks at letterlocking.org.

1. Fold the template in half, keeping the longest length.

2. Fold the fold in half.

3. Open the fold and use the crease just created in the middle of the paper as a guide. Fold the lower half in half. Fold the upper half in half.

4. Fold the folded folds in half.

5. Fold the folded folded folds in half.

6. And that's the fold. You can add a cover message or art. The idea is to have a message in one box (i.e. i) and reply in the next box (i.e. i). You can pass the post back and forth seven times.
Here is the folding video that inspired this template (also the history of the fold and lock is fascinating).
I thought I had followed the same pattern of folding but apparently after re-watching I did not. Oh well, still works :)
